Spilled Ink
Choreography: Amy Hallam & Georgie Abbott
Composition: Craig Frangleton
Spilled Ink is a piece inspired by letters sent between sweethearts during warfare; young husbands separated from their wives for months or years at a time. These letters, the only contact they had, were passed down through generations and are still telling their story. Many couples suffered through the hardship of war, pining for loved ones and holding onto the only piece of them they had left; the words in their letters. The piece focuses on the women left behind working tirelessly through their struggles, pulling together in their time of need, becoming the backbone of the nation. The unity of these women and their inspiring strength is an emotional journey captured in this tender duet.
